Who do you miss?

So, I wanted to write about the 5 days I spent in Burlington.
3 friends went to visit 1 friend. I have always known we were different but during this trip, I realized how different we are. 4 friends all with different passions and interests. It’s funny how things work, right? When we are younger we are attracted to people we think are similar to us but, years go by and everything changes. Sometimes we don’t notice how everything has changed until we stop and take a look around.
During this trip, I was able to see that. I didn’t really do any work stuff. I was just enjoying my time. One of my friends is a teacher, the other one is a psychologist, the other one is an environmentalist and I’m a business person. We visited my friends’ school(the environmentalist) and it was so cool to see everything in real life. It’s amazing to me how people can have such a deep interest in the well being of the environment. I do care about the environment but I don’t surround my world around it. Maybe I should. I dont know. Anyway, it was amazing to see how we are all different but how we are all interested in each others’ stuff, even if they are not that interesting to us personally. I think that is what friendship is all about. We probably don’t understand in each other 100% when we talk about daily lives but we do connect in such an emotional level. It’s magical.

I encourage everyone to take a look at your lives today. What are you missing? But most importantly, Who are you missing? Do you miss the way things used to be? Do you miss talking to them? Being interested in the same things? Well, maybe things won’t ever be the same, same but true friendships never go to waste. My best friend lives in what we can call a “hippie” city. I read fashion blogs everyday. We grow but our hearts remain the same. Don’t ever let go of the people that shaped you, they are all you’ve got. The rest…comes and goes.

Life: Good Morning

Good Morning!

I’ve tried juicing before. When it became the “it” thing to do to be “healthy” I tried it; I’ve done that 5-7 juices a day I think and maybe I was a little crazy. I mean, in the moment it’s torture but at the end of the day you feel amazing. Now, that I have gotten over the “it” thing, I still do it but I do it like a normal person.

Sometimes when I feel bloated or I’m having one of those “Ugh, I’m fat and ugly” days, I turn to my juicer in the mornings. Mornings are what sets our days apart from a good one or a bad one. I don’t know about you but I love GOOD days!

When I do my juices I always try to mix veggies with fruit because I don’t really like the taste of most vegetables. Here’s a recipe I did the other day.

  • – Cucumber
  • – Kale
  • – Orange
  • – Broccoli
  • – Apple

Buenos Dias!

He tratado muchas veces eso de “juicing” . Cuando se puso de moda, probe eso de tomar 5 o 7 jugos al dia para limpiar el sistema. Sueno super loco y la verdad es que en el momento es una tortura pero al final del dia, se siente riquisimo! Ahora que ya esta pasando de moda, sigo tomando bastante jugos pero ahora como una persona normal.

Aveces, cuando me siento inchada o solamente me siento “gorda y fea”, siempre cuento con mi maquina de jugos. Las mananas son lo que separan los buenos dias de los malos y no se ustedes pero prefiero mil veces los BUENOS dias!!

Cuando hago mis jugos, trato de mezclar frutas con vegetales porque en verdad no me gusta mucho el sabor de algunos vegetales. La siguiente es una receta del ultimo jugo que hice:

  • -Pepino
  • -Kale
  • -Broccoli
  • -Manzana
  • -Naranja


And the following is the result… It might sound crazy  and like a total lie but, whenever I drink a juice like this one in the morning, my day is full of energy and I tend to stay fuller through-out the day.

Y el resultado es el siguiente… Puede que suene como una mentira pero cada vez que tomo unos de estos jugos en la manana, mi dia esta lleno de energia y me mantengo mas llena que normalmente.

Life: Work It Out



So, today  is the day about working out. I played volleyball since I was 9 until I was about 19-20 years old. For all those years I took working out for granted because it came with the sport and it was so much fun. Well, when my volleyball career came to an end, I realized I had to start working out. It really hit me when I started noticing my nice legs disappearing.

For my workouts I like spinning because it burns lots of calories and also keeps that rush going while working your legs and butt. Did I mention my volleyball career ended because of a back injury? Well, spinning is not so great for my back either; I have to do everything in moderation.

To try to keep things simple, I like quick and effective workouts. Usually, I go to the gym with my sister and run on the treadmill and then do some planks. Other times I warm up on the treadmill and then do yoga. But, sometimes I just workout at home. Jumping rope is awesome because it keeps your heart going and you can really feel your legs and abs working. When I jump rope, I usually do 15-20min. I jump for 1 min and rest for 20 or 30 seconds. Try it. After 10 min, you can really feel everything working. Even your arms!




When I work out, I love being comfy. Tight clothes have never been my things. Not in fashion, not in sports.

What you don’t know about Saunas

My sister and I have gotten into the habit of going to the Sauna or Steam Room after working out because it feels sooooo relaxing. Every time I come out, I feel like a new person, no stress at all. And after, a good shower and I’m ready for bed. I have always known about saunas and steam rooms but never really understood the reason behind them so I did a little research about saunas. Here’s what I found: 

Aid adaptation
– Reduce stress hormones, 
– Lower blood pressure 
– Improve cardiovascular conditions
– Relieve symptoms of a cold
– May help improve endurance in sport
– Perspiration is a sign of autonomic responses trying to cool the body

Also, Did you know? 

The Finns use fresh leaves, to gently slap the skin and create further stimulation of the pores and cells. 
Apparently, there are more saunas in Finland than there are cars. Weird? Yeap, but kinda cool, too. 
Fire was seen as a gift from heaven in Finland, and the hearth and the sauna oven were its altars. 

I don’t know if steam rooms have the same purpose, I’ll have to do a little research about that. I found all of these facts al over the internet, please correct me if I’m wrong. 

I don’t know about you but, I would love to go to Sauna in Finland!!

Let’s face it, we all have those days when we cannot seem to face the mirror because we just feel… ugly. This happens to us girls probably every month and we know exactly who to blame.
